Pollstar Year End Rankings Announced – Arena breaks record in 2017
Monday, January 8, 2018 (Ontario, California) Citizens Business Bank Arena is one of the world’s Top 200 Arenas per the annual Pollstar Year End Rankings recently announced which is based upon the 2017 concert ticket sales. Citizens Business Bank Arena ranks #95 globally, #53 domestically in the annual rankings. Citizens Business Bank Arena also placed #8 domestically for arenas with a capacity of under 15,000 seats. With 204,380 concert tickets sold in 2017, a new all-time high was established for the arena which hosted 20 concerts in 2017, doubling the number of concerts from 2016. In addition, the arena experienced 229 event days with 251 total events, both of which are new records.
Pollstar is the leading international publication for the concert industry, which publishes quarterly, mid-year and annual rankings of top arenas in ticket sales worldwide.
SMG Worldwide Entertainment and Convention Venue Management took over management of Citizens Business Bank Arena on July 1, 2016. The comparison of the first-year management by SMG Worldwide Entertainment and Convention Venue Management to the prior year under the former management company shows that an additional 61,784 tickets were sold, and the venue climbed 16 spots globally and 5 spots domestically.
“We are proud to have accomplished this milestone” said President and CEO, Michael Krouse. “We planned a new direction when we took over management of Citizens Business Bank Arena and now, a year later, we are seeing the results”. The number one goal was to improve content, specially to add more concerts to the calendar. Sold out shows in 2017 included Def Leppard, Tim McGraw and Faith Hill, Paquita La Del Barrio, Winter Jam plus two Trans-Siberian Orchestra concerts. On sale now for 2018 is Justin Moore, TobyMac, Miranda Lambert, P!NK , Ricardo Arjona, and Alabama with more announcements to come soon.
